During and following disasters, a lot of emphasis is put on damage to buildings, crops and water, but little focus is put on sexual and reproductive health care (SRH) for women. We produced a short documentary for IPPF that highlights the work of International Planned Parenthood Foundation’s (IPPF) Humanitarian Team and how they work with local partners throughout the Pacific to respond to women’s special needs . It explores an innovative IPPF simulation exercise to help its partners navigate the challenges in delivering SRH during and after disasters.

To capture the role and activities of the IPPF and its Fiji Member Association – the Reproductive and Family Health Association of Fiji – our team filmed and photographed two days of a simulation training exercise. The workshop highlighted the role that various agencies play after disasters in order to maintain the provision of sexual and reproductive health care.
